Canterbury Cathedral and Canterbury Tourist Sites

Canterbury Cathedral at Christchurch has existed for the last five centuries and has changed architecture and design reflecting all the centuries that it has gone through. This Cathedral was built earlier than 1067, and was burned down that year. It was rebuilt and consecrated in 1130. Fifty years later, however, the Cathedral was damaged by fire and was rebuilt and redesigned again by French architect Guillame de Sens who made one of the first Gothic designed Cathedrals. However, de Sans was unable to continue because of an accident. Thus, William the Englishman took over.
